The B&B is ideally situated for exploring the island’s beaches, machair, lochs, and marshes, by bicycle, by car or on foot: low tide brings opportunities for gathering cockles or crossing to the uninhabited island of Vallay; within a few minutes’ drive are Balranald Nature Reserve, Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum and Arts Centre; and everywhere there is an abundance of flora and fauna. North Uist is a breathtaking natural environment with hills and bays in the east and sandy beaches on the west.
A warm ,homely and friendly welcome always assured awaits you to our comfortable,cosy ,relaxing family home on arrival which is overlooking ,magnificent ,superb and undoubtedly breathtaking picturesque views of the vast stretches of sand overlooking the island of Valley .
We are happy and willing to help,advise ,share with you our sound knowledge of what true island life is about having been brought up in the southern isles.

We stayed in Struan House in July 2018 for 4 nights and it was a delightful time. The location is perfect for the exploration of the island with it's stunning beaches and wild life. The house is welcoming and warm, our room with a spectacular view was very comfortable and spacious. Delicious breakfast will set you right for the whole day.
Peggy looked after us really well and made our stay unforgettable.

We spent two nights at Struan House on our bike trip up the Outer Hebrides. Absolutely wonderful. Great starting point for walking to Vallay. Easy riding to dinner at Westford Inn.
We didn't get to meet Peggy, as she was away for a family emergency, but John Shepherd was a great host. Breakfast was delicious. The room was modern and very good
